DLR workers to stage two day strike
DLR (Docklands Light Railway) security staff and cleaners walked out this morning at 5:30am for a 48-hours strike. The strike has been called in a dispute over pay and conditions.
General Secretary of RMT, Mick Cash said that the members will not sit back till their core issues regarding pays and conditions are unsettled. Moreover, the ballot result has also shown the anger among DLR members and they expected from Inter-serve to wake up and take notice.
The company said that they will definitely continue to work with the union to try and get to an agreement that is acceptable for everyone.Because of the strike there will be traffic chaos on many stations including Royal Victoria, Waterloo, Canning town, Tower gateway and bank.
