Train Strike on Bank Holiday has been suspended: Holidaymakers breathed sighs of relief
National train strike belonging to the TSSA and RMT unions had planned to strike on bank holiday Monday and Tuesday which has been called off as unions agree to negotiate on new offer. General secretory of the TSSA said: “Our negotiating team at Acas has received a revised offer from Network Rail. As a result of this, they have suspended the planned industrial action.” General Secretary of the RMT also said: “Please work your shifts, overtime and all other additional hours as normal next week.”
After this call off Holiday makers and commuters are feeling relief now as the threat of the first national rail strike was lifted and they can proceed their plans accordingly. However, trains on bank holidays are still unreliable and still there is a threat for commuters of massive delays and rush at the rail stations.
There is a big risk for those commuters who are travelling out station by using Virgin trains, because they have announced that there would be no train services available for Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London Euston on Monday and Tuesday.
